Kim Kelly

About Kim

Kim has lived and practiced law in Penticton for over twelve years. Kim is an accredited Family Law Mediator and offers her clients mediation as an effective alternative to litigation for resolving family disputes. Her current practice also includes real estate transactions, wills and estates, corporate commercial matters and family law. With a Bachelor of Arts (History and English Literature) from UBC in 1997 and a Masters of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan, Kim obtained her LLB from the University of Saskatchewan in 2000 and was called to the BC Bar in 2006. Kim started practicing in Penticton in 2005 and eventually co-founded Black Sage Law with Angela Svetlichny in 2013. In January 2016, she and Angela merged with Interior Law LLP with a focus on achieving practical solutions for clients and resolving conflicts as efficiently as possible. Kim enjoys being involved with local business groups in Penticton, including the Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce, 100 Women Who Care, Penticton Women in Business, the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen and the Penticton and District Bar Association. Paul Varga

About Paul

Paul was called to the bar in 2012 after obtaining his JD from the University of Saskatchewan in 2011. He practices in the areas of personal injury, criminal defence, defamation and free speech and estate litigation. Paul joined the legal profession after a 20-year, award-winning career in the media, most recently as the managing editor of the Penticton Herald. As a result, his studies in law school included taking a keen interest in copyright and trademark law, as well as defamation and free speech. His other areas of academic interest in law school included environmental law and the laws affecting Penticton’s seniors. Paul has lived in the South Okanagan since 2003 and is a founding member of Many Hats Theatre Co-op, is serving as President of the Penticton Rotary Club in 2017-18, and has been involved in local politics. Paul has three children and three grandchildren, and spends his winter weekends skiing, his summers cycling and running. In 2015 he participated in his first Challenge race and Axel Merckx Granfondo, and in 2017 represented Canada in the ITU Multisport Duathlon World Cup hosted by Penticton. Angela Svetlichny

About Angela

Angela Svetlichny graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Science. She later studied law at the University of Victoria, obtaining her LLB in 2002. Angela was called to the BC Bar in 2003 and she initially operated her own law practice in Vernon. In 2005, Angela began practicing law in Cranbrook, British Columbia with the Steidl Kambeitz Law Corporation before moving to Penticton in 2010 and joining forces with Kim Kelly under the banner of Black Sage Law a few years later with the shared goal of bringing a fresh approach to family law practice. Angela is a litigator and will take your issues to court but she also attempts and encourages resolution of family law issues out of court. Since she and partner Kim Kelly merged with Interior Law LLP in 2016, Angela has been practicing in the areas of civil litigation and family law, with a focus on Collaborative Family Law. Kathryn Robinson

About Kathryn

Kathryn Robinson practices primarily in the area of family law. Kathryn graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with honors in 2005 and completed her law degree at Queen’s University in 2010. She was called to the Ontario bar in June 2011 after articling at a high-end litigation boutique in Toronto. Kathryn was called to the BC bar in November 2011 and practiced at a full-service Summerland law firm for over 4 years. Kathryn joined Interior Law in 2017. Kathryn is passionate about advocating for her clients both in and out of court. While she regularly represents clients at contested court applications and trials, she often resolves legal disputes through negotiation or mediation. Kathryn’s compassionate nature gives her a unique ability to assist her clients as they navigate their difficult, and often emotionally charged, legal matters. Kathryn is an active member of the Penticton and District Bar Association, in which she previously held the positions of Vice President and Treasurer. In her spare time, Kathryn enjoys all that Penticton has to offer including the Saturday Farmer's Market, fundraising events and festivals with her husband and son.
